Wordpress Plugins

I’ve gone a head and put together our top 15 WordPress plugins that I think everyone should at least check out if they haven’t already. I know for myself that I have tested many plugins in the past, as always some were junk and some were exactly what I were looking for.

Choosing the right plugin these days can be difficult, especially if there is 3 or 4 similar plugins and you don't know which one to choose.

I've read so many other posts in regards to the TOP * WordPress plugins but in one way or another I have always found one or two plugins that I have liked. So it is my turn to share my top 15 wordpress plugins with you. What goes around comes around. Enjoy! ;)

My Top 15 WordPress Plugins of 2011

1.) .html on PAGES

Great little plugin, adds .html to the end of all pages. wordpress permalinks do need to be enabled for this, which I have mine set to the following: /%category%/%postname%.html. The .html in the permalink only gets appended to Post URL, thus why this plugin is required. Reason why I use this? SEO benifits: Of recent we have seen a shift in Google preferences of .html, .htm, .asp, .php extensions added to url's-we are pretty sure that Google is looking at site structure much more carefully than ever before and is now classifying .file Extension ending url's as being more permanent, lasting and more authoritative a page than that of the trailing slash / .

All in One SEO is a must for any wordpress site in my opinion. All in One is a vital tool in managing the search engine optimization strategy for our websites, utilizing the automated tools in it has saved us countless hours and headaches in performing the necessary SEO functions of our sites.

Love this plugin! Cforms II is more then just a contact form, as you can almost create any type of form that you are looking for! I will say it does have a bit of a learning curve but once you figure it out you won't be disappointed! I definitly recommend checking this wordpress plugin out.

12.) Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin

All I have to say that this plugin is perfect for preventing Spam in your wordpress comments. I am done with the annoying Captcha images and have moved to this little plugin. It adds a client side generated check box to the comment form requesting that the user clicks it to prove they are not a spammer. Bots wont see it so their spam comment will be discarded. Check it out below in my Comment section. :)

14.) W3 Total Cache

Most larger WordPress blogs should definitly have some sort of Caching plugin. My preference is the W3 Total Cache plugin. It has the most options available out of any other caching plugin out there but what goes along with that is that is the learning curve is a little trickier. This plugin dramatically improves the speed and user experience of your site. Add browser, page, object and database caching as well as minify and content delivery network (CDN) to WordPress. Download and install it now!

15.) WP Greet Box

I don't know where I would be without this plugin! The WP Greet Box shows a different message to your visitor depending on which site they are coming from. For example, you can ask Digg visitors to Digg your post, Google visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed, and more! Best of all, this plugin is compatible with various WordPress cache plugins. And just to let you know that it works great with the W3 Total Cache plugin! It is great for getting new subscribers to your site. You can see an example of this plugin just below. :)
